The Writer’s Biography

She was born in Budrio, in Italy, where she spent her childhood and her adolescence, she graduated from Bologna University in Medieval History. She moved to Pescara, where she taught Italian in junior and secondary school, getting involved in many activities of experimentation and research.
In the’ 80s she collaborated with the Institute of Italian Encyclopedia, working on a multimedial project for italian’s sons living abroad and she edited the anthology “Message in a bottle” published by Mursia. At the same time she made her debut as a children writer with “Adalbento’s memories”, a short novel very innovative both in writing and contents, which started the collaboration with the Trieste’s Editor El-Einaudi Ragazzi-Emme Edizioni still lasting today.
The book, translated in different European countries, received important awards and was welcomed as a “definite and unequivocal signal of renewal” in italian children’s literature. Subsequently, followed a production of tales and novels for children and teen-agers, that confirmed her writing quality and moreover her capacity of inquiring into male and female psycology of different ages.
In 1995 she quitted school to devote herself completely to writing: since then the novels of her full expressive and narrative maturity have been published, that have given her national and international notoriety.

Noteworty, among them, “My grandfather was a cherry tree” which has had 23 foreign editions, as well as “shortlisted by the Deutsche Jungenliteratur 2002”, has been selected for the “Prix Chronos” in France and recived the Award as “The best translated book” Slovackia 2008.
